I'm not sure how Tyco did their earlier playmats, but I thought how they did this one was kinda neat. It looks like someone made a model and then took an overhead photograph. Kinda cheezy, but it works

Sorry about the crappy pictures...this thing is BIG. It's kind of awkward to photograph

You're right...that's the bottom of one of the over-and-under trestles used for a bridge on the left...

Hah, that brings back memories: my first train set from when I was 6 or 7. The loco didn't last as functional too long, but my dad did have the foresight to tape the mat to piece of plywood so it fared a bit better. I always liked the bunkers, and especially the dark ballast "craters"... those could double as anthills for the mutant variety, if one were so inclined...

Why spend money on a plastic bridge when you can just include a picture? OHHHH TYCO

Tony: I can't imagine the mat lasting long on it's own. Did your parents start finding ants in the house?

I need this set to complete the last of the 5 tyco tv themed trains.ave transformers, mask, rambo, and a team. Gi joe is so expensive now that I've waited so long to get one.
