This is a liquid type track cleaner - you apply the cleaner to pad - pad is still in good shape for more use - $2.00

When the cleaning device is softer than the rails, it is 100% better than a "Track cleaner/eraser" such as offered by Walther's... their "Brite-Boy" These are best used as a very fine sanding tool.
Anyone who doesn't believe this, try this: Take the "Brite Boy" and rub perpendicular to the rails, i.e. same direction as the ties. You will see scratches! Scratches too hard to notice when parallel to the rails. Where there's a scratch, there is where gunk can seat... you "scrub" away until it's shiny. You've just scratched the rails.
Sort of like voiding the "anti-rusting" guarantee on your new vehicle when you put it through a car-wash.
It's true.

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
