Well it's winter so time to subject myself to the indignities of AmKack travel in case of the typical Lake Ontario blizzard while I cross NY state for Christmas....!

Gawd `elp me!

I know.

Here's the funny part the train "the Maple Leaf" runs from Toronto to NYC. I could board the train in Toronto at 7:30am then take from then till about 13:30 to get to Buffalo where I'm catching the train. It only about 2 hours to get there by car! It's the crew change at the border and the Customs search that takes forever, so I'll drive the easiest stretch and then when the AmKack shows up it shows up....

Owe my marriage to Amcrash...started out as my future bride's platonic escort back to Bible college in Baltimore, 12 hours and a train change at Penn Station later, we were stepping off the train in Rochester as a budding couple, the rest is history.

She found me especially intriguing as I would point out the foundations of long gone coaling towers, station platforms and old right-of-ways. Didn't quite know what to make of me---we were engaged 3 1/2 months later.

It's been years since I've ridden Slamtrak. I wonder if the dining cars still serve those overpriced rubber hotdogs.

I done a nice ride on Amtrak when I was younger... Went up to Huntington, W.VA and back, about 100 mile round trip.

Ben,, you need to get out your Skank Of America or American Distress card and ride the Amtrak! Riding Amtrak has a lower risk than the cards....
