 Here we have CSX 18742, A battery shunter. Feast your eyes! The title is not a taunt, but I saw you talikng about the hideous foriegn engine, so look at this.

Hey, now , that's a neat piece - some "green" railroad equipment! WHere'd you find that pic at, CN? I'll have to investigate further, I like different. Here's some different as well - compressed air locomotives :



Now, modeling a Comp/Air Hustler would be neat.

What is a battery shunter? It looks pretty easy to model, but what is it's real world purpose?

Googling this Battery shunter, it was built in 1917 as a shop switcher, so I assume it would move non-running locomotives around the roundhouse areas when they were in for repair. It's now at the B&O Museum in Baltimore, MD. Pretty neat piece of equipment, never would have guessed it was over 90 years old! Wow.

Where did you get that specific image of the shunter- I found 2 others on the B&O Museum website, but not that one. This looks like a great little project with another AHM center cab!
