Here's a pic of my Life-like log mill that Microbuss has claimed. The logs roll down from the upper level, eventually to the flat car which dumps into the flume. Has its box also.

Now that brings back some memories!
I bought one of those in Junior High at Kay-Bee toys. I really wanted the action feature, but after I got it I was disappointed in the complete unrealistic nature of it. I ended up packing it away with all my other train stuff after High School, and unfortunately it was broken in the process. I've still got it, but it's in pieces, and I've never checked to see if they're all there.
Back in the day, I used to agonize over ways to make it realistic. I always thought I would put it next to a hill, so a dump car could dump logs into the upper level. Then of course there would have to be a stream at the bottom to carry them away at the bottom. But it was not to be.

Yes, Good thing we collect for nostalgia or just play value, as many accessories tended to not be so realistic--we could make a whole list of them. I also have the Life-like radar tower with rotating dish. I was actually thinking about attaching a stiff wire to the top and connecting an airplane at the end, so it would 'circle around' as the dish rotates. ---Microbuss, I'm still asking the same price as before, but feel free to send as much as you want!!!!!

Okay here you go!
When I got back into the hobby I was temped to just throw this thing away. The operation always seemed strange. i.e. Whole logs roll in from a raised platform, then go through the saw mill and come out whole. They are then dumped onto a train car which them dumps them whole into the pond. Makes no sense. Guess I didn't really care when I was a kid.
My new modern day layout had no use for a mill so I decided to kitbash it into a warehouse. I removed it from the base, and then started cutting. I removed the ramp section that comes out of the front of the building and attached it to the side instead. I then made the "back" of the building the new front. This will be a background building so no one will see the open back side.

I made a loading dock are out of scrap pieces. The roof overhang on the loading dock is actually the gate from the dam on the pond.

I did a lot of painting and distressing of the exterior to show age. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out even though "scale wise" the building is a disaster. If it was truly HO then the actual building would be 21 feet high and 14 feet wide. I'm just assuming there is a lot more of the building you can't see that extends off the layout.
