Today is December 7, 2011. It has been 70 years since the attack on Pearl Harbour. Well, I assume that you know what it is, and If you have served in any armed forces, Thank you.

Nice sentiment. I'm a school teacher, and you wouldn't believe how many (high school) kids have no idea what Dec. 7 was. Of course, Canada had a big contribution to the subsequent war, so I salute you guys (your spelling of "Harbor" has to have come from Canada!). I served during the time related to a different body of water, in the Middle East. Chris, SSGT USAF

I think I will watch that movie today too
Let's remember the guys & gals who did fight in WW2 & to the automakers who made the tanks, guns & planes to fight

A big Amen and Thanks! to all our servicemen and women who are out there watching our backs ( and covering our butts ). With all the Middle Eastern countries wanting to "nuke up", and North Korea as well, we will need a stout protective force now and in the future to fend off future incursions into our freedoms. Too bad we can't use them against politicians trying to do the same to us internally. but that's another rant. May our flag always wave high, and our armed forces always be there for us. Semper Fi!

When I saw the movie Titantic, I over heard a teenager in the back of the theatre say:

"You know, I think that ship is actually going to sink..?"

My date and I lost it!

This was my Father & Mothers War, both now long gone.

To all the Honoured dead, especially those still entombed aboard the Arizona I would offer this:

HERE DEAD WE LIE

Here dead we lie
Because we did not choose
To live and shame the land
From which we sprung.

Life, to be sure,
Is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

A E Housman

Requiem æternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis.

(Grant them eternal rest, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.)

I Normally Watch "Tora Tora Tora!" on December 7. One of my favorite movies! Sad all the marines died, but its better than the Movie Pearl Harbor by a long shot. For some reason I like Older movies better.

As a vet myself, I made a point of thanking an old-timer (far senior to me) I saw who was wearing a military-logo ball cap (he was in his late 80s) for his service on Monday.

Makes you feel good!
