My building of the week is actually a Bridge of the Week - it's a swing bridge that I kitbashed from 2 Bachmann Blinking Bridge kits. The blinking lights are gone, but a bridge tender was added in the middle. I based this loosely on the Petaluma River swing bridge on the NWP.

Nice work guys...like that swing bridge a lot, very ingenious use of toy parts...
Mine is a Tru-scale (later offered by Revell) track side shanty I rescued from a junk box...before/after...

Like swing bridges, and I admire adaptation.
Nice to see all these kits "modded" "....or whats a heaven for!"

Shay, that shanty looks great!
Has your crew figured out yet how that pallet got up on the roof? Must be an interesting story.

Shay--Isn't that the same as the Life-Like rural house? I've got one somewhere I can compare it to.
Here's mine: A Model Power Woodsman's shanty. It's only a couple years old and came pre-assembled. I modified the paint somewhat. This was only $3 when Hobby Lobby started clearing things out.

Thanks...just figured it would look right for a lineside shanty...I see pallets used regularly in hurricane country to hold down doubtful roofing on out buildings.

It wouldn't surprise me...as I've gone thru the hobby, I find many products that have changed hands over the years.

Hi All,
Great stuff guys! I don't post a building of the week very often, mainly because I didn't have anything new till now. I was given this by my wife today along with about a dozen N scale buildings and 4 HO scale Christmas box cars. It says Walthers on the bottom and 1998. I really like the clean lines of this. It seems a little bigger than most gas stations I see for HO. That works for me though, My MB & HW cars will not look oversize in front of it. Now I just need some tanker trucks to fill it up LOL.
Thanks for sharing.
Mike
