Ken:
There's a variation on it with CC trucks.

Below is a picture of my best friends father using demo unit 1975 to drill Metuchen yard in 1978 Metuchen yard was the yard that serviced the ford motor Company's Edison Nj assembly plant
Demo units 1975 and 1976 were used between the Enola yard Near Harrisburg and the meadows yard in Kearny Nj Conrail had placed a initial order of 25 units to replace the aging GG1fleet and older E 44s ..... The order was hastily cancelled When Amtrak ordered a realignment and all through freight Was ordered off the north east corridor.

That three truck version is cool looking, but it must have been murder on curves.

That is a very interesting locomotive! Would the 3- truck version be able to handle 22" radius?
Where would you start ( what shell and chassis) if modeling either the 2 or 3 truck version in HO?
Even though it was an actual production unit ( albeit with a short life ), it would make for a great freelanced "what if" item!

Taycotrains,
you mean Metuchen, NJ.!? I used to know the Bishop of Metuchen. My parish Church was in Plainsboro which fell within the Diocese of Metuchen. Miss it!
