a great idea and aid for the dedicated model enthusiast, ken The Tachowagon from FLEISCHMANN gives a new dimension to the operation of model railways. Now one can read off the scale model speed of a train, converted into HO scale. If one needs to know just how long the model route in HO-kilometres is around the layout; simply press the button run the Tachowagon over the route, and the display will indicate the HO-kilometre measurement. A wagon-load of information about running your model railway . Naturally, in order to give the best possible read-out and handling qualities, the Tachowagon doesn't follow a set prototype. As a measuring instrument, it delivers to the railway modeller important data and facts about the operation of his layout. The data is also easily readable from above or even far way

It's amazing how clear that photo of the car is while it's moving at 249 km/h! In all seriousness, that is really cool. It would be neat if they made one with a wireless transmitter so you could see how fast all your trains were going from one spot on the layout :P
