While I'm at it, I thought I would remember some things and ask about them. What is the best power pack to use with any type of train?

Hi Dirtboy45,
Welcome to the Family. I use MRC power packs. They come in different flavors, Like dual controls and other options.

Thanks Mike,
Keep the advice coming. Ever since I was a kid I loved trains with a passion. Now I find that I have a lot of time to tinker and get into the hobby, much to the displeasure of my wife, who thinks the money should go else where I guess I will post these small questions on the bits and pieces area of this web site as it annoys some people, and I do not know why they have to be that way, but, none the less that is the rules so that is where my SMALL questions will be. Thanks again Mike and be sure to give me any other helpful hints you have.

| I haven't received mine yet but after getting tired of the Tyco pack, I got an MRC 9000. It has nice features and volts and amps gauge readouts as well. I am a sucker for gauges, lol. It is the previous model, but I don't care. The current model is 9500 I believe.

MRC has the best DC power source PERIOD! Now, don't get me wrong, but I have some Tyco trans. and one is the size of a bigger MRC. I have 2 Auto Pulse transformers and they work fine too.
