Hi

I am wondering what the bogie wheelbase is for either version of the diesel truck under this unit - but am most interested in the one with equidistant spaced axles. Also I wonder if there is any potential for narrowing the gauge of the trucksl? i have seen some web references that say it is not a bad unit performance-wise.

Regards

Ben

I heard they are called "vampire" trucks for obvious reasons & the ones on Tyco aren't prototypical on this type of loco

Actually prototypically the only HH630's were originally delivered to the Norfolk & Western and were mounted on traded in Trainmaster trucks. It was commonly thought that it was for cost saving but in fact the TM trucks rode and cornered much better than the Hi-Ad's usually installed.

Try www.hosam.com On the left column is a link Diesel Data, I think that will have what you want.
I just realized you may want the wheelbase of the TYCO unit , not the prototype.
The Phase I TYCO used a more correct looking truck from Rivarossi, there is some information on this forum about that.

Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.

The Tyco trucks with their equal spacing remind a lot of the Krauss Maffei units that SP had. They also had equal spacing.
