I picked this up today, trading a guy his junk pile for mine, when I was going through the pile, I thought this was just a 60's TYCO but looking at the trucks, I have never seen any that mount like that. So who made it? Also in the pile found an old MP Crown caboose and the chrome Crescent Limited cars.

Actually it looks like a plastic chassis, but it IS a Tyco, and probably does date to the mid/late 60's. I have a couple with that riveted mount; there is metal gimbal for the bolster that goes into the chassis. Kind of an uncommon variant, I think it may have something to do with the lighted versions. I have also seen this style chassis / truck mount with large silver "button" rivets.
The metal chassis had a large hole in the center to fit the bulb for a lighting kit.

| Thank You CNVIATyco - Tony is correct also - There aren't many of these around - I have one or two of these Also. From what i have seen on these versions - the lighted and non lighted have same chassis - the lighted one would have brass wheels on one set for interior light to work from track power
