What is diff about those Annie And Clarabel and the ones commonly sold in the states by Bachmann. Bachmann from what I understand is just using a copy or the Hornbe molds. They are nice cars for what they are to represent. Do you have a photo of the cars specifically, just curious about the differences.

My contribution is a BevBel Nina boxcar, there's probably more in this set. Picked up at train show for $2. Micro is gonna get this one. Figured I'd use it ahead of him while it's still mine.

I was originally thinking of converting this to a Desoto car boxcar, as Chrysler used the head of Desoto as a hood ornament in the 40's and 50's era. But, it will go to another home.

tkruger, did you know that TOMIX is N SCALE! NOT HO! Please, just google a company when you did`nt know that they existed or knew they made that scale. Not to be rude. The Models were only avalible in Japan, and are quite rare in the United States.

I apologize if I sounded rude, that was not my intent. I asked the question rather than Google because in my experience the person who is looking at the item and has first hand experience has more direct knowledge than a page that anyone could have written. In addition I have seen many models were one company shares molds with another.

1. Selling trains is how I am able to pay for the ones I want and how I pay for the restoration of my Mustangs. It is my only source of funding for either. Some sacrifices have to be made.
2. Take a Urlich trailer, mold it using the latex molds and cast a few in epoxy resin, or plaster. It can be done.

Thanks for the additional images. Now that I have an image folder of it, I realized I have a perfect flatcar waiting in the wings- now, on to researching the tanker and support base. This looks like a post-turkey day project, but less intense than that AHM center cab loco I am presently working on.
The flat car and tanker combo makes for an interesting visual on a service layout.
One more question, if I may: What time frame does that particular style of tanker date from?

The Rivarossi flat car sure is interesting but I'm really taken with Redwood's WWII hospital car, fascinating! My COTW is also varnish:
Budd Vista Dome Observation car of the CB&Q in HO by Con-Cor. Not a perfect match for Walther's Budd cars but good enough in motion to fool the casual observer. I've always liked these tail cars and the Silver Vista is no exception. What a view!

Hi Ron,
Being that I was born in 1970, I can only guess, but I think it would be the late 40's through the 50's and even into the 60's.

Based on some Google image searching, the tank trailer on the flatcar appears to resemble a 1958 B Mack model used by Mobil Oil. I came across an HO scale Rivarossi model, perhaps a lucky find at a flea market/swap meet, but a quick look at Athearn and Alloy Models did not turn up anything currently on the market as a retail purchase.
Perhaps another forum member who is more familiar with the HO model vehicles aspect of the hobby could offer some additional information.

Well, a bit more looking on E Bay turned up 1/32 scale 1958 B Mack tankers, but nothing else in HO so far.

It's a shiny set, microbusss. I originally wanted the Pioneer Zephyr but it was out of my price range and an E8 with a few Budd cars look almost as good. Plus I can use the loco for freight service to!

One of my all-time favorite films. I watched it when it was first on when I was 9. That tanker still freaks me out. Notice that the front bumper was reinforced with very small gauge rail.

Brian -- I was thinking rail made for amusement park trains or very large scale live steam. It's really small.
