Hello All, I'm waiting on a Penn Line K-4 Pacific that I just purchased. Does anyone here own one? What's your experience with it? Running qualities? I've heard they weigh more than a brick! Chris

Have one with a Varney chassis, due to the lead boiler it`s very heavy!
see it here: http://youtu.be/oUoMX_keBZo
Like it very much, pulls a lot! - Erich

Hello All, Just got the K-4. I cleaned it up and oiled it, and it runs great--even slow speed. One problem is the rear corner of the cab is broken off. I was thinking about forming a corner out of J.B. Weld. Any other suggestions how to fix this? Chris

Ken, That is a sweet one. Mine must be a slightly different vintage. I've got a brass bell and safety valves. Also, my valve gear is all silver-colored (plated?). The wire going to the tender still has the old cloth insulation! I'll send a pic when I get it all restored. I'm very happy with how it runs--and it weighs more than a brick!
