Anyone here know how to fix these. I have one that there is no speed control. It works 100% or nothing. There are not much to these when one opens them up.

Are You Trying To Get a Knob, Or Get It Fixed?
I Can Get A Knob, Not The Actual One, But One That Will Work.

Basically it may be junk. The coiled wire is resistance, and it may have burned up , or for some reason the contact bar is lifting off the middle section. Could be the shaft is crooked, do you notice the knob edge moving up and down when it's spun? Usually there's only two issues, either the coil wire is burned up, or the contact bar is not making contact well in the middle area (had tyco throttle contacts do that, the cardboard inside would warp). Getting dropped, warping, etc. all are possibilities. If you don't have an Ohm meter, you really can't troubleshoot it effectively just by looking. You can check the mechanical connectivity, but that's about it. If you can see the resistant coil wire, see if it's blackened in the middle area, if so, it's probably beyond cheap repair.

Thanks Jerry, It doesn't even reverse polarity. Do the capacitors ever go bad?
All there is- Coil, Rheostat and Small Capacitor

Those may be the power diodes, for regulating AC into DC. Yes, they can go bad. Are there 4 of them? If so, that's the power rectification circuit. Could be a special capacitor to handle surges, too, if it is a single cap. Not sure on how that would affect the power.

AF, If you're getting DC at full throttle, then the rectifiers are fine. I suspect the rheostat. The contact area of the coils could be covered in corrosion (two in the pictures you posted were quiet rusty), there could be an open winding, or it may be as simple as the wiper arm having gotten bent back so it only makes contact at the full CW end, which is easy to do if someone pulls on it. Try pressing the arm against the windings in a lower range and see if you get any current.
The old MRC Gold Packs had selenium diodes riveted to the inside of the case, and an electrolytic cap between one end of the rheostat and the wiper arm, if memory serves. Caps can go bad, but if it did, it would likely have exploded. That happened in my old pack, too.
