A Pittsburgh & Lake Erie (New York Central System) locomotive with green paint? Did that prototype exist, or is the ghost of green Penn Central locomotives coming to haunt us?

That one caught my attention too...is there a prototype??? Athearn does bend some rules from time to time on prototypes, but I'm assuming there is a green Alco like this...anybody know of pic of the real one???

The only P&LE I see here is the BLACK NYC with lightning stripes scheme. Did I miss something?

Tood, I guess you did miss something. Originally, Athearn had posted paint diagrams for this coming run of RS-3's. I see that my link to Athearn's site has been updated by Athearn with production models.

That P&LE RS-3 was originally a paint diagram with a green body with lightning stripes...not the traditional gray body as now seen.

Wow!!!!
If they do one in Western Maryland, I'm gonna be all over it!!!

I have a first run MDC, (and didn't have any problems with it, like many have) and am wanting another.
If they do them as the photos show, they will be SWEEEEEETTTTT!!!!!!
