What price range? 50% off new price good enough? A train club buddy is selling off an N gauge estate for a lady, the late gentleman had quite a collection, many foreign ( German, Japanese types by Kato , Micro Ace , and others ), I've seen but maybe 15% of what he had, going over Friday to look at what else he brings home. Most of the stuff looks mint and never taken out of the box, other stuff was well-used, but so far most of his collection looks nice. By Plymouths, do you mean 44 ton (the tiny ones), or much bigger? Any particular road names? I'll see what he has tomorrow and give a report. He's going to ebay a lot of it, but will sell some directly to us club members.
What I want from you is : FIRM price range, iow if some N gauge engine sells new for $60 , are you willing to pay $30 for it? I will judge the items by their condition, and have them tested before buying. My friend is NOT going to sell them dirt cheap, he's contracted to get as much as he can for them. I did buy a Micro Ace EF10 mini-boxcab, Japanese made, for $40, it is $80 new retail price. Looks like never been out of the plastic case. So assume 50% of retail, if I find anything you specified, do you want it at that price? And what is your limit per engine, 20-30-40 dollars? Otherwise, I'll just take an inventory, and report back, and we go from there. 50% off a vintage new engine barely used is a pretty good deal to me. My friend has the Internet, so we can reference stuff pretty quickly. No guarantees on anything, but he's got RDC, German, Japanese, American, so far seen electrics (foreign ), diesels, no steam yet, some trolleys, etc. Can't wait to see the rest of it! Well, all for now,

Ok, those are 44 tonners, the 2-axle types. I don't recall seeing any in the first part of the collection, but that was only a fraction of what my friend had brought to his house already. I'll check Friday for the small ones. Price range, please? Seen those priced at train shows in Virginia for $15-20 each.
