I visited my local Salvation Army this evening, they make a huge pile out back of "good" trash, to pick through, tonight someone had dumped some decent wood scraps, I found some wood trim that looked like oversized HO roadbed, painted white. I grabbed the 4 pieces of that, another thinner piece that would do N gauge track, some premium 2x4 pieces, and some hand railing in 4' lengths. Thinking of making some display or test roadbeds with the roadbed trim. Railings, not sure yet. :) can ALWAYS use 2x4's. Other than that, I left the rest. Don't have need for wall molding scraps. Not in that small a quantity, anyway. Now, off to bed.

Picture added - Here's the N and HO roadbed molding, will make nice display or test stands.

Don't think I've seen this type of molding before, wonder who makes it?

The molding does seem to be a pretty elaborate style. It looks a little thick for chair rail.
Did you find the furry tail with them?

I did a little scenic detailing on my roadbed tonight, I bought some simulated-stone paint, sort of a splatter-paint style, that works really well, and actually looks like stone ballast. It has a slightly rough texture to it, so it's actually 3D as well. This is the shortest piece I painted, I also did the 4 foot sections and a 7 foot section. All turned out as nice as this one. Will make nice train displays, I have sizes for N and Z as well.

My tile friend said this type of moulding is probably used between windows set close together, the reason it's flat instead of tapered on one side. I've never seen this type before, so it may be. Gonna make great display roadbed, anyway.
