I started model railroading when I was 3 with my Dad's 3-rail Marklin set. I switched to 2-rail in my teen years and have been building and collecting ever since. I was focused mostly on prototype (SP, WP etc.), but recently I started collecting various Tyco pieces, like the centerflow hoppers and some of the operating accessories. They are just great fun! I do a fair bit of kitbashing too.
I want to thank everyone for such a great site. I enjoy seeing what everyone is collecting and building.

Thanks all for the kind welcome. Bob, that E94 is still my Dad's favorite loco. A fine runner and puller. Ken, very nice Santa Fe E. I'm almost done assembling a 5-car Golden Gate train using Rivarossi Budd cars and at some point I need to find an E unit just like yours to pull it. In the mean time though, I'm tackling a CDROM remotoring of a PT drive. I was inspired to give it a try by the many folks who shared their successful conversions here.
Cheers, Thomas

Welcome Redwoods! I have a collected a few pieces of Tyco too! I love the Golden Gate train Idea... If I ever have to live under a bridge I hope it's the Golden Gate!
