Gorgeous passenger set, toptrain. Is the first coach in the consist a Royal Mail car or just plain baggage? Love mail cars.

Yes it is a Royal Mail car. That grouping of cars was transfered from the Catford branch of the PGW.

Hi toptrain, those F units sure are a tight fit on the turntable! Looking good but these aren't the ones you posted in LOTW. How many F units you got in total? And is that an Alco FA set front and left?

Thank you tykowolf for your compliments. I need enough power to run a railroad.
Enough engines for The PGW Eastern branch on this side of the pond.
Especially for the Frankford branch and its parent railroads.
Which are the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Great Western Railway.
Both have very flexible rosters of motive power.

At present EMD F series locomotives assigned by the PRR side have a pair of F3A units.
As well as four F7A units and one F7B unit.
And a pair of F9A units presently assigned.
Alco FA units are as numerous.
These locomotives do not sit still but are constantly being reassigned.
All of them reassigned after returning from The Frankford Service area.

They are in and out. Recently all ten of the assigned FA units were here at Frankford.
The motive power here at the Frankford facility is always changing.
Many surprises are found on different storage tracks here.
Our associate railroad the Great Western Railway has transferred many locomotives here.

Ongoing evaluation of locomotives types is a must.
We cannot just look at our own manufactures.
The PGW has made it possible for us to test even locomotives from other English railways.
We have here locomotives of different types and from different railways.
We test them and assign them to even our best name trains.
Some of the F units seen this morning.

The TF Railroader News is an open venue.
Anyone can post here articles and photos about current events on their railroad branches.
The PGW has no exclusive rights to this.

Today I caught sight of a PGW passenger train pulled by a EMD F3A.
It was the Congressional Limited. I photographed it at its stop at Bergen Point Station.
It was made up of a combine and diner and three cars and an observation car.
All cars were Mantua extruded aluminum cars. The loco a LLP1000 model.

Glade you like it Wolf. mantua made a few that aren't shown. A dinner, then maybe a full bagage and sleeper. I dont know of domed cars. A different company made the same type of car line in HO. It was the American Model Toy Co. I have a set but have to clean them up. They are different from the Tyco Mantua type by not being completely Aluminum. The roof of the Tyco is cast with the side walls. It is all aluminum and has ribs running the length of it. The AMT cars have stainless steel roofs and are smooth.

A locomotive just transfered from the Catford branch sits on a siding behind the brewery.
It is the Hiawatha Canadian Pacific number 1542.
Its lettering has been redone from white to gold.
The number is the same as the original that was placed on it.
1542 was on the tender where the PGW now is but in white.
The 1542 under the cab windows is the same location as the white 1542 of the original.

While sneaking around the Frankford roundhouse area I took this photo.
It is a mishap involving a leased Reading Atlantic engine.
Someone was not doing their job and a derailment occurred.
Here in plain sight the front truck of this 4-4-2 is definitely off the track.
The way this railroad is run changes need to be made.

From the Editor.
Please pay no attention to Sneaky.
Here at this paper we do not condone this action.
He is a reporter and thus feels a need to cause controversy.

The minor mishap was fixed promptly. Accidents happen.
Track condition was the cause. It is fixed.
PGW Railway takes its responsibilities seriously and promptly.

The use of twelve made up trains on this layout is not a good thing.
This layout will run smoothly with five trains.
I have two north end sidings that can be used.
They are sidings with only one entrance you have to back a train in and drive it out.
Anywhere else trains can pull in and pull out.
