I know everybody was beginning to wonder where the quad hoppers were, so here they are:
Top to bottom, Model Power, Bachmann, Lionel.
I think this is the 1st Model Power CN hopper Iāve gotten, and maybe only the 2nd CN hopper of any make.
An M&StL hopper is one of the first Bachmann hoppers I ever got, with the typical talgo couplers.  This one has body mounted couplers, so itās a variation I didnāt have.
I already have a black Lionel Alaska hopper, but it has a big crack in one side, so I really needed this one!

Also from the Canton show, the latest piggyback trailer acquisition:
According to research conducted by GoingInCirclez (Tony Lucio), these shouldnāt exist.  The white Santa Fe trailer was one of Tycoās early piggyback offerings, and was retired before the overhead piggyback loader/unloader was introduced. Roof overhangs weāre added to the piggyback trailers to work with the overhead loader/unloader, so no Santa Fe trailers should have roof overhangs, but these do.
Now I need another intermodal flatcar to go with these trailers.

L@@K!!!  Even more Varney/Life-Like flats!
I already have 3 Clyde Beatty flats; one like this one, a white one with red lettering, and a red one with white lettering.  2 things about this one that Iāve never noticed before is that it was made in Hong Kong instead of Taiwan, and instead of wheel chocks on the deck, it has retaining clips.
And of course my fifty-leventh silver NYC flat!

I attended a train show near Youngstown, Ohio on February 21st and got more goodies I didnāt need but had to have!
First up, letās do the requisite quad hoppers!
The Peabody and Pennsy are AHM, and the Frisco is Cox.
I already have an AHM Peabody, but itās livery has the black lump of coal, and this one does not!
I already have an AHM Pennsy too, and two Cox Friscos. Ā Trainset quality cars in boxcar red arenāt very common, so I really like those!

Four posts above this one, I showed a pair of Santa Fe trailers and mentioned needing a flatcar for them, but I forgot I also wanted a flatcar for the pair of Bubble Yum trailers I have.
Got āem:

Also from the Youngstown show, the latest batch of Mantua/Tyco operating hoppers:
I now have at least 10 Burlington hoppers, at least 10 Holly Sugar hoppers, at least 14 B&M hoppers, at least 17 Virginian hoppers, and at least 88 operating hoppers in total.

I also picked up 2 more Bachmann Union Pacific 40ft Hi Cubes:
I already have 1 of these, with a crooked UP shield.  The shields on these 2 look pretty straight though.

The Youngstown show yielded anutter Mantua 40ft reefer:

When I found this one, it was packed like this:
⦠and sealed in plastic wrap so I couldnāt get a good look at it.  I could see the roof and ends were blue but I couldnāt tell if it was custom painted or delivered from the factory that way.  Since it has a red box scheme, I thought I might have found a ārareā variant, but if it turned out to be custom painted it would still be a nice example to have.  Turns out it was produced by the reincarnated Mantua, which is just fine, because after finding the reincarnated Mantuaās A&P version, I now want the rest of them too!
And incidentally, I actually prefer this blue roof version over the red box all silver version.

I grabbed my third Enjay Plastics example of the AHM/Roco FlexiFlow hopper at the Youngstown show:
All the steps, grabs, and piping are intact, and it has its brake wheel stand and both end ladders.

The train show in Youngstown yielded 2 MU-2 locos.
A New Haven C430:
I donāt know if this one is ārareā or not, but itās not one Iām familiar with, so I grabbed it.
An Illinois Central GP20:
Iām pretty sure the Illinois Central version isnāt common, so I grabbed it too.
Both of these were reasonably priced.
