That is what your club needs Jeff. An organist and McDonald's meals. That would bring the public to the club.

May I take your order please? Will that be music with your french fries? The perfect combo for the good people of El Paso!

Beyond huge. The floorboards, btw, appear to date back to the 19th century

oh maaan I'd LOVE a 70s-80s McDonald's in HO scale several things I'd do to it are make those white roof lines light up which as a kid I thought they looked like giant fries bent in the middle the big M would light up as well maybe TRY to get a double sided mini LED sign mounted under it & advertise what's available NOW irl

One of the Seven Wonders of the model train world. I can only ponder the degree of planning and cooperation required necessary to pull this together.
I was part of a model train club for over 20 years, and we used to argue about the cost of paper towels. I cannot imagine how all these men, and possibly a few women, banded together their resources and came to agreements.

Unfortunately their lease expired early this year and the layout had to be dismantled.
Building the layout was located in was sold to new owners who had exorbitant rent which meant the club had to move to a new location.
The New Jersey Hi-Railers club's extensive model train layout in Paterson, NJ, was dismantled in early 2025 after the building was sold, and the club has since acquired a new building in Boonton, NJ, to construct a new layout, which will be on their own property.
The old Paterson layout was not designed to be moved, so many of its components are being reused, sold, or discarded, with the original platform likely being replaced by a new one.
Reason for Move: The club's lease was not renewed, and the owner of the building sold the property, making it impossible for the club to afford the new owner's asking price for the space.
Timeline: The final shows at the Paterson location were held in early 2025, and the dismantling process began soon after.
Process: The process was complex due to the layout being on the third floor of an old silk mill and not designed for relocation.
Volunteers were needed to help with the enormous task of dismantling, packing, and transporting components.
Components: Many items are being carefully packed for transport to the new Boonton location, but some elements, such as the original platform, are being discarded and will be replaced with new construction.
The New Location in Boonton, NJ:
Property: The club has purchased a new building in Boonton, which will be their permanent home and is not subject to moving again in the near future.
New Layout: The process of taking down the old layout is complete, and the focus is now on preparing the new building to start constructing a new, improved layout.
Will take years but it will be reborn like a phoenix.

Actually they will rebuild the layout in a different location.
The New location in Boonton New Jersey will have just a few steps to get in. Probably a ramp will be added later. Good times ahead.
