This is a Grant Super Continental set that arrived from ebay today. It dates to the late 1950's. The contents include an Athearn F7A body riding on a Hobbytown chassis, an Athearn F7B body riding on a Globe/Athearn dummy chassis, and three aluminum-body Grant passenger cars which I believe use Tyco sideframes on the trucks.

Thanks Chops! These don't seem to come up often, and it's a great period piece for my layout. I'm happy with it!

Like I say: Queensdale is a futuristic Canadian utopia, with its feet firmly planted in the last
century! It would be fine to see some video of this old gem under power!

You know, I grew up in Ancaster, now, I believe, a part of Hamilton. So your creation hits
me on several levels. There are aspects, particularly the bus station, that remind me of
a 1960's Hamilton, and the green grass of Canada. Visited Ottawa, what with the majestic
Ottawa and Rideau Rivers. Queensdale evokes a sense of place. Canadian yes, but also
with a little ironic twist, what with the futuristic mis en scenes.

The engines need minor repairs. Neither have couplers and each chassis has a broken mounting tab. It's kind of interesting, the bodies aren't meant to be fastened to the chassis. There's two little tabs on each side of the frame that the body just sits on. Once those are sorted I can shoot a video.

Funny enough, I never did solidify which side of the border Queensdale is supposed to be on. It's vague enough that most North American railroads can run through without looking out of place. I know some local themes have crept in though!

It's clean and well cared for, so it HAS to be Canada.

Even here in El Paso, the occasional CN unit rumbles by, Canadian Pacific and CN cars fairly frequent.
