I got off work early today, and felt a little crafty. I managed to handcraft together a little something out of a little wood and paper. Here's my new model of a Model 5/7 Civil Defense siren.

I love the old Civil Defense era electromechanical sirens, and I'm proud of this model.

Here's the operating scale I went with. Considering these things are like a 55 gallon drum, I think I'm close to HO...

RP Your Plasticville F.D. has one on top, but if you want a pole mounted unit I would be happy to make one for E.F.D./Ephrata Civil Defense.

If you guys are interested I'd say my cost is like $15 which covers supplies, shipping, and a couple hours of labor. But I'm always looking for train stuff, so trades are always fine by me.
I can do these in several colors. Standard colors will be yellow with a crude CD logo. I can also do Fire Dept. Red, white, blue, green, or grey.
Let me know if you want one.

A tutorial is a lot of work. When I say money, I'm just mainly looking for something to make up for shipping and the labor, it doesn't have to be anything much. For example I'm looking for a Bachmann F9 shell with the two headlights and a windshield. I'd be willing to trade for that...

I'm always interested in Bachmann/Tyco locomotives/shells/motors/parts. I'm always looking for Tyco powertorque trucks and wheelset covers. Just show me what you got, I'm not picky.

Looks good! I remember Life-Like's Hampden Fire Engine House building kit having such a siren as part of the roof details, but I think they removed it in the 2000s. I have the version with the siren on my layout.
