Had a question about the Rivarossi 4-4-2. It's the Southern Pacific freight model. Do they rot badly to where it can't run? I won't run mine very much or at all but I'm curious.

| Zinc rot is terminal, and will only continue. The best you can do is put it in an atmosphere with low humidity and paint the exposed metal if possible.

Bake-O-lite plastic doesn't rust or corrode. It just gets brittle and breaks easily. I have 2. A firsts run with handrails on the car roof and a latter one without those handrails. Any cast metal parts are fine.
