Not best quality, used my phone and glass is up. Photos go left to right.

I promise eventually I will post some better quality shots. Probably after I finish my passenger wall later in the summer. I also plan on building some shadow boxes like this to put some overflow. Metal sided reefers, promo tankers and some misc pieces that just didn't fit.

I will also be adding a shelf at the top of the short wall to put all the Cattle/Stock cars with a SF Blue and Yellow FP A & B. They are sitting patiently in a box waiting.
The open slot on the fourth picture was for a Candian Pacific 40 ft #311 Boxcar. It came a couple days after the photos.
I posted pictures a number of years ago when I first put it up on the walls, but it looks like the membership has changed dramatically since then, and maybe a lot of folks didn't see that old post. It also transformed a bit since then.
Hope you enjoy. I love having out to be seen all the time.

Chops- I get on a kick every few years. I was more into the site in its early days when all kinds of new info was constantly popping up on the site about Tyco. I don't have room for a layout, but had kept all my Tyco stuff from the 70's (about 30 pieces) and turned it into my wall of obsession. If you search the forums from around 2007? with Woodbury as a key word, you will see the photos I posted when I originally set this up.
We do set up an O gauge display under the tree at Christmas every year. I have about 20-30 RailKing pieces I started accumulating for the kids for the last 20 years. That's the extent of operating trains though.

Cheez - Focused on diesel era, no steam era. Trying to collect as many unique pieces as I can. I'm at a little over 400 if you include my passenger pieces. There is probably at least another 100 pieces from the diesel era out there that I don't have. But... everything left is probably getting in the higher price range too, so I am moving slowly at this point. I'd even be willing to pay a premium at this stage, but, that's the funny thing about collectors, always buyers, not really sellers, so not much choice sometimes on moving slowly. But since I only collect Tyco, I'm not breaking the bank too badly, despite my wife's frequent occasional protest.
I'm sure you'll like the passenger wall when I'm finished based on your particular interest.
Glad you like the display.

I look forward to the passenger coach wall. Tyco passenger stuff always grabs me. Why, I don't know. It just has the look. What can I say. Once a Tycohead...

good eye on finding the tide car. Tony L did that for me some years back. Haven't heard from him in years. Was hoping to do some Arm and hammer mock ups as well some day. Made several attempts to strip covered hoppers and paint them to be ready for decals (which I don't have the ability to do) but not satisfied with any of my attempts thus far. If the quality of photos was better, I was going to put the challenge out there to find something out of place in the collection The Tide would have been one of them. One in particular that I'm sure wasn't sold under the Tyco brand, but certainly used their molds later on, is in there too. I figured you all would enjoy the Tyco version of Where's Waldo.
There is one duplicate in the photo too, which is soon to be resolved. So kudos to any observant Tyco Head if they point it out.

Took me about 20 minutes but I think I found the anomalies. First the duplicate is the Shout car since it has two different sides (Not sure)? Second, the non-TYCO car you have out there is the Conrail caboose. Also, it looks like the white Santa Fe piggy back are Mismatched.

Conrail Caboose - Excellent. You are a certified Tyco aficionado.
I didn't think about the Shout car actually, so technically that is a duplicate, but not the obvious one I was thinking of.
The SF piggy backs may be shuffled. There is a white pair with the Logo over the Fe and a white pair with the logo over Santa. Same deal with the silver SF ones too.
The duplicates are literally right next to each other. Last clue.

last try, I can’t read the names, and I know there are three red Skid flat W/Culverts, GN, Frankford, Stewart. So, you either have 2 of the 3 or that is the dupe. Or, you talking about the two Alco Super 630’s, can’t tell if they are different phases, but if that is it you would have to also have to include the two SO76 F9’s together.
By the way, where did you get the variant Pepsi 50' car and the Canadian Pacific 40’ box car?

Its the SF Alco 630's. That was the one I expected stood out. IF the quality of photo was better, I'm sure it would have made this exercise a little easier.
The Spirit of 76 F9's are a powered and a dummy, so not a complete duplicate. (in my OCD mind)
The Conrail Caboose made it to the wall because to that point, I had successfully had a matching caboose for all my lineups. I wanted to have Conrail represented in the collection, as I lived near their Conway, PA yard in the 90's, and my first son loved seeing those trains. So it got an exemption to be up there.

The Pepsi variant was a custom job by the same guy that did the Tide car. It was a gift for me helping him out on something. The Canadian Pacific (now proudly on the wall) came from an older collector that was probably the first guy out there hoarding Tyco. He was starting to downsize his collection, but knows the value of his rarer stuff, so $ Ka-Ching $ I was hoping he had the Canadian National one as well, but he did not.
I also got a UP Passenger set mint in original set box from him. I was willing to pay up for that one too, as those chances/oppotunities to buy seem to be pretty rare any more. Plus I was anxious to round out my passenger display. My lack of patience probably works to my disadvantage sometimes. Especially since in the rest of my life beyond this Tyco thing, I am considered by far the most patient human being on the planet.
Oddly, I just won another UP set on eBay for $40.00. It wasn't mint or boxed, but the shells were excellent. I was the only bid. I can only figure that everyone expected it to get crazy high and just stayed away. I won't even say what I put my bid in for....but if there was another idiot like me out there that night, one of us would have paid much more than $40. I'll chalk that up to the one rare instance where the bidding worked out for me. Since the bulk of things out there that I don't have now fall in the "less common" category, I find myself getting bid up too high most of the time. I needed a win like that to help balance the load.

Fourteen. I built the casework and tracks for the Lexan to slide along, but the shelves themselves are from Glen Snyder Displays. I spray painted them to match the wall color before mounting them.

Scott, a few years ago I landed four all white hoppers from TYCO, undecorated fresh in the boxes! I guess back in the day they had undecorated stuff for sale. I did not know that until I won them on eBay. I had planned to asking Tony to do me a Tide car.

The shelves come in 6 ft lengths. The long wall I made to accomodate 12 ft. of shelves, so no cutting. I had to add about 20 inches on the shorter wall and made the cuts myself. They will cut to specific lengths, but charge per cut I believe.
Chops, I got that White CP on eBay about five years ago. It was in a Lot with about six or seven pieces, not mentioned in the description and kind of hidden in the photo. I got the lot cheap, assuming no one noticed what was lurking in the pile.

SCMICH,
I was asking you about your PEPSI box car with the long blue stripe, well look what I bought off eBay yesterday. Apparently, it had been there for a long time, but the owners were not willing to come off the $49 dollar price tag. I made them an offer of $25 and them accepted! Nice huh?!?!
