My father had one of those,and as a young boy i broke it. Now 25 yrs later i bought another for him.Ive always liked this loco because the paint job really grabs me. Good luck with it.

Thanks! I got this when I was about 14 and can't give it up. I should have her running again in a couple weeks. Maybe I'll upgrade the lighting to LED as well, while I'm at it.

Everybody is so helpful on this site,got many trains running that people thought they were junk. and Brians videos are a major asset to watch and learn from. without all you guys my trains still be in boxes on the shelf. Happy holidays to all.

That's another reason why I came to this board ... I read a LOT of the posts before I registered and the helpfulness is abundant. As is the same with any kind of hobby, there are just too many know-it-alls and snobs in the mainstream. I don't subscribe to the notion that Tyco products do not measure up to the hobby. The fact that this group of people here on this board exists is proof that Tyco products are worthy of the hobby, like it or not.
