Hello fellow Tyconuts,
I'm considering selling my whole collection of Tyco,Life Like,Athearn,MDC,Gilbert HO,etc....
I live in Baltimore Maryland, and would like to be rid of this stuff as soon as possible.
I don't wish to part out the collection, but sell it as a whole.
A lot of it is unboxed, but I do have a good amount of boxed items, and sets. Let me know if you are interested.

Ouch, that sounds bad, Carl. I won't even speculate what's behind it.

Personally, I couldn't absorb that much gear, and wouldn't enjoy reselling it, either. Better to find it a good home, if absolutely necessary. Sorry to lose a collector/enthusiast.

For reference, what kind of volume are we discussing? Enough to fill a shopping cart, pickup truck, boxcar, or cargo ship?

Last time I took stock of my collection of Tyco/AHM, it came to several hundred pieces of motive power and rolling stock. I'm sure that many forum contributors are into the thousands, tens-of-thousands, or even more. Good grief, that would be an interesting - or embarrasing - survey.

Ah, well. If it must be, then it must be. All the best to you,
-TK

Unfortunately, my work situation has had me working 32-hour weeks since January of this year, costing me thousands of dollars this year. I live nearby, Carl, below Washington DC in Woodbridge, VA. While I'd like to, there is no way I can afford the cost or space of a huge collection at this time. I'd probably wind up in divorce if I bought and brought THAT much train stuff home at once. Oh well, wish you well, and hope it works out for you.

I'd like to know more. I might be interested, but it depends on how much stuff and how much money you're talking about. I've actually got a little extra money coming soon.

Thanks for all your replies everyone,
As of right now I don't have a detailed inventory (been meaning to get to that for the past few years)
My work schedule has me busy most of the week, and everything is crated up.
I'll try to dig some of this stuff out,and will post a list hopefully soon.
I also might be selling off my Lionel,Marx, and Flyer collections also.

Sorry to hear that you need to sell everything, Carl. I know times are tough. If you decide to sell piecemeal, I might be interested in the Flyer and the MDC.

Carl- I couldn't help to notice the part about wanting to be rid of your collection.

While I don't know your situation (and its not my place to ask), I hope that things are okay with you and that they get better. So... I wish you the best of luck my friend and hope things improve for you.

Ebay with a best offer option and PLENTY of pictures would go a long way to help market your collection as a whole and not piecemeal.
