I got this at an auction yesterday:

It runs fine, but has no pilot. Does anybody know where I can get one? I'm thinking of repainting this to Great Northern if I get the parts.

Okay, those of you who have used yardbird trains--I emailed them on Monday, and I still have not heard back from them. Are they usually slow to respond?

Based on my experience you never will. The only 4-6-2 pilots they have are die cast ones.
I have seen original Tyco/Mantua pilots sell on Ebay for as much as $22.

That's too bad. I sent them an email requesting price information on both the plastic and die cast pilots, but no response. Their system for orders leaves much to be desired. They promise a less than 3 hour response time to emails.

Somewhere in another thread I added to this. He emailed me a couple days after I posted this. The item was shipped very quickly. I think he's just real busy. You might want to call them.
