I'm planning on taking some wire to sell at the Timonium show, I have some special cable I've cut up into 100 foot sections, the 18 gauge wire cluster cable has 15 wires in it, the 22 gauge cable has 17 wires. The 18 gauge has 10 primary colors, then 5 white with colored stripes. The 22 gauge has 7 black wires, and the rest colored, I think they're twisted-pair. I was going to ask $60 for each 100 foot of cable, so here's how that works out -
18 gauge - 15 wires times 100 feet, equals 1,500 feet of 18 gauge wire, bundled ( I believe this wire was used in V.35 data communications )
22 gauge - 17 wires times 100 feet, equals 1,700 feet of 22 gauge wire, bundled and twisted. ( used in RS-232 data communications )
So, that equals around 3 to 4 cents per foot OF EACH WIRE, which is dirt cheap, and almost wholesale price. The bundles are heavy, I'd probably strip them before shipping to remove the outer gray shell to soften the shipping costs. But if you figure normally you would pay $8 retail for 50 feet ( Napa was my cost basis for this ), that's 16 cents per foot, so 1500 feet would run $240 of 18 gauge. I"m willing to sell smaller lengths, of course, if you want 50 foot only, or 25 only, I could do that. Copper isn't cheap, and once the outer casing is stripped off, the inner wires are nice and fresh, i've stored the wire outside in a shed, so the casing is dirtier. Just thought I'd check to see if anyone wants some wire for their layout construction. I have probably 3,000 feet of the bundled 18 gauge, not sure about the 22, but maybe 600 -800 feet of that bundle. So remember you're getting 100 times 15 or 17, that's quite a bit of wire! Even considering shipping costs, you'll be getting a pretty good deal compared to retail pricing.
Anyway, contact me if anyone wants some wire. I will post pics of both if there is sufficient interest.

This is tinned stranded wire. No solid wire.
