Hey Justin! Slot Car layouts are a blast! You can combine the slots with the trains to make a really fun layout. Tyco makes slot car track pieces with the rails made in them for the trains to crossover the slot car track. Just an idea....

Seems like Hobby Lobby has a few slot sets or look on ebay to buy anthing you need for them. Ebay always has track auctions avalible to expand the set that you buy...

Don't know if you have any of these near you but I got my "Daredevil Jump" race set at a thrift store for $2 and the cars for $.50 each at a flea market...

Thanks Walt...it is a great little set that came with everything but the cars. You should've seen the face of the flea market vendor after I turned those cars bottom up to him. He had them in a Hotwheels junkbox. We both had a good laugh at my "Gotcha" moment, but he looks a little closer at the cars before he puts them in the box now.

Unfortunately, there's no "true" HO scale slot cars. The old aurora types came the closest, they had small bodies, and the fronts of the cars would be jacked up in front over the contact bars, sometimes the wheels didn't even touch the track! Most of the modern " HO " is actually closer to 1/64th, or S scale size. There are actually small enough motors now that someone could probably make a true 1/87th scale slot car, but don't expect that to happen.

There is some interest here on the Panhandle...at least two hobby shops have 1/32 scale tracks.

I don't even see the relevance of what size these HO cars are. Does it really matter that some may be a bit larger than their advertised size?

When Justin posted this topic, I think everyone pretty much was aware of what he was wanting. We have enjoyed the so called, "HO scale" slot cars for many years now....

Me, either Steve. I never remember seeing ANY of this stuff when I was growing up, I saw slot cars, model trains, but not US-1 Trucking. I now have some of it, I bought a box-lot of it for $20 a few years ago. I have the turnouts, but not enough regular track to make any kind of useable layout - yet. Maybe some day.
