Hi Guys, I just bought a Spirit of 76 F unit today and the MU-2 motor is locked up. It looks like the enging was stored in a damp environment, and the armature rusted into the bearings. I've tried to free it up,but it won't cooperate. So if any of you guys have a spare plastic MU-2 motor laying around let me know. (and how much it's going to cost me)
Thanks, Carl T.

Have you tried soaking it in a bath of WD-40?

Forget WD-40, soak it in a bath of Liquid Wrench. It worked for Cheez on an old Athearn motor with the armature rusted inside the magnet ring.
Just be sure to remove the brushes first, and clean afterward. Good luck.
