Kansas City area folks and those around the area...
This weekend there's the Greater Kansas City Model Railroad Expo at Union Station. It happens both Saturday 10/13 and Sunday 10/14. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
I went to this last year and found some nice bargains in old HO-scale trains. And if you've not seen it, the G-scale and S-scale holiday display layout is up and running now in the Union Station Grand Hall. This big layout covers nearly half of the station's large Grand Hall and is really something to see. Downstairs in the theatre district they also have operating HO- and N-scale layouts. The layouts are free to view and worth a trip to see themselves. There's also a newer Harvey House restaurant open at Union Station to have lunch. Union Station is located at 30 W. Pershing on the south side of the downtown area of Kansas City.
So Tony, any finds? I was able to get down this afternoon, and picked up an Athearn RTR GP-35 in the Demonstrator scheme that I've been looking for, and a couple of good books. Find any goodies?
