I've got a Tyco and 2 MRC two train controllers. All of them have issues.
The Tyco one is item number 898, both throttles "leak" power when in the off position, just enough to have some locos move at the slightest bump to the layout. They also jump up to what would traditionally be about 1/4 power with the slightest turn of the control nob.
One of the MRC controllers is item number 202 UL, MRC called it the 'Twinpower' (externaly, at least, it's identical to the Tyco one other than the printing). Throttle one outputs barely anything, not enough to move any locomotive, throttle two has the same "leaking" and jumping to 1/4 power as the Tyco one.
The 2nd MRC controller is item number D-2000, and is called by MRC the 'Master Twinpak'. Throttle one works without issue, but throttle two is completely dead.
I would rather not have to buy a new controller, and would like to get one (if not all) working properly. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of controllers can help.

Well, after opening and testing components on the MRC D-2000 'Master Twinpak', I can confirm that one of the 2 transformers is dead.
So, if anyone has a TESTED and WORKING replacement transformer, PM me. Measurements: Input: 120v AC (standard house power) Output: 20v AC, 1 amp Width (not including mounting brackets): 2 3/8 in (6.1 cm) Depth (across coils): 1 3/8 in (3.5 cm) Height: 1 7/8 in (4.8 cm) Distance between mounting holes: 2 7/8 in (7.3 cm?)
