Post photos of your pets or other animals you photograph.
These photos show my eclectus parrot who is now 20 years old. I first saw her when my neighbor got her in May 1999. I helped my neighbor care for the bird on a weekly basis. After he and the wife died I told their relatives I would care for the bird. Been doing so for 6 years.
More to come.

In another thread, someone was asking me about "the replacement" for Chopsticks, my late cat, and alter ego. Well, Chopsticks, who has since departed, was never quite "replaced." While living out in Pecos, Texas I found Reeves, here above, who could have been Chopsticks twin brother, as a stray- a bag of bones and a too tight collar. We made eye contact, and he came dashing to me, clearly asking for help, and I raised him up since he was a kitten, and we have been the best of friends ever since.
As he grew up, he would chase poor Chopsticks around the house, demonstrating his Alpha status, I guess. So much so that Chopsticks actually ran away for two months, and we gave him up for lost, there being coyotes in number about here. An animal patrol guy delivered him to the house, because of his chip. Turns out he had gone a couple miles away to a distant neighborhood- I guess Reeves had a lot to do with running him off.
The story had a better ending, as both Chopsticks and Reeves became reconciled to each other- no more chasing, until poor old Chopsticks, he must have been at least 16, was laid to rest.
Interestingly, Reeves was quite agitated and restless for the better part of a year after Chopsticks was gone. But he's more calm now, and very affectionate to all.

A parrot question... my eldest daughter, in her twenties, wants a pet parrot. She had some love birds for a few years, and greatly enjoyed them, but wants to step up to a larger, more interactive bird, much like Blossom, shown above.
Any advice on tips for bonding with these intelligent, sensitive birds? Care and feeding? I will forward any replies directly to her. Are they high maintenance in terms of requiring hours per day of handling and attention, or are they peaceful if left alone for periods?

It depends on the species. Many of the larger parrots live for decades. Blossom is currently 21 years old and can last a decade or more. Proper fruits and veggies and bread helps their digestive systems. They should have some attention daily to keep them happy and active. The bird would trust the human if they are given attention. This can be a very long commitment because some of these birds live far longer than 🐈 cats and 🐕 dogs. A reputable parrot shop would let her know all the information if she wants a bird.

Some of the female parrots have mood swings. The videos I have posted were her in her happy mood. She sometimes shows her aggressive side. I will post a video of that mood when I see her angry.
The male parrots have less of that behavior.

Our latest little guy will arrive here on Sunday. This is Duke, a full German Shepard that I am getting for my daughter Makayla. He is 8 weeks old. An old friend of mine wanted his older Mustang prepped and painted. He offered to trade me one of 3 puppies for doing the work. How could we pass that up? :)

Got these two rabbits last summer as pets. Had them in a cage, and I didn't like the idea. I told my daughter that I had heard rabbits after living in one place for a while would not stray very far. They have been loose for 8 months now and have several places that they stay at night on the property. They come out daily for food that we have on hand...

This next video and parrot is not mine. Too noisy for me.

Wonderful photos of the four cats and a dog recently. This week update the thread with a photo of the eclectus parrot.
Approaches 22 years old. They can live 30 or more years. Some reports over 40 years.
