In their day less than $2.00 and probably show a little more in the catalogs. I have never paid over $10 for a pack and that's including shipping... I have about 20 extra packs of these that I will keep to use when one of my layout poles burn out...

Yeah, that is a bit high priced. However, the "Piggyback Loader & Unloader," as it is officially called, doesn't really go cheap. It took me a while to find a good deal on one....for RETRO TYCO.

The Tyco remote toys are pretty cool but I have never owned any. As a kid I thought they were more "toy-ish" than the train cars and buildings. I kind of like the unloading coal hopper, but have yet to get one if I decide to...

Yes, Chops... The magenta colored redline hot wheels have a good value. Some of the pink cars do also. I love the redlines and have a few. But they are not in perfect shape like my Regular Wheels Matchbox are... I spent many a day playing with the redlines!

Not me, thanks to WKS I got a dummy shell and
was able to power it up with some advice from
Toptrain. Microbusss says that his has/had
issues staying on the track.
Getting my powered former dummy to track
was a trick and a half.

That is the Mantua reprise version, and it looks just like the Tyco version. Both are hard to find - a little pricey but not extreme really.

Perusing eBay for British stuff, came across this little gem:
Electric motor coaches, after a third rail, I am guessing. About $500 the pair.
I like them, but not at that price, but this is apparently the going rate. Hornby.

Indeed it is. It's part of "The elusive three" as I like to call them. The Mantua conrail shifter, the US navy little six, and the hooker little six. I remember reading through old topics that SCVR66 wanted to find them all, got the conrail shifter, but I remember him saying he wasn't sure if one of the two little sixes was actually produced. I don't remember if it was the hooker or navy one.
