I am amazed of the recent auctions that have had the clip on the track light poles once offered by Tyco. I bought an auction with 7 (I believe) clip on light poles not very long ago. Over the last several years I only saw 1 or two packs. Bought one pack for display only....

I am actually posting a real bargain this time! This kit, in it's Life-Like brand box, is rare and outrageously over priced. I have one of these but almost tempted to buy this one too...

Some nice items can be bought at reasonable prices if one is patient enough to
look over time. Some sellers do lower prices when their items gain no interest.

This one is just crazy when you read the section "item condition" and see this line; “ From non-smoking house therefore smoke unit operation has not been confirmed - ” I guess candles may not be used in that home either...

I can hardly believe that someone claiming to be a hobby seller would list this piece of broken track, esp for $5 plus... Not only is the small tabs broken but one of the large end tab receivers are broken off too.

I get a kick out of descriptions that say "no damage" or "no missing parts" when the picture clearly shows otherwise.

Really, it's normal on "0-6-0 Moguls" for there to only be a railing on the fireman's side, for the bell to stick up above the boiler like a tower and for some unidentified apparatus to tower out the top of the fuel bunker. All the "0-6-0 Moguls" have that.

The Tyco Union Gas station is pretty neat. In a sealed box is really neat... But the $249.00 price tag is just a bit nuts in my opinion... I didn't read the fine print but maybe it comes with 50 gallons of gas as a bonus...

* Also to call a Mogul a 2-6-0, unless you lost the front truck. The photo still shows its front truck and its broken front pilot.

This is not Tyco, but goes to show how prices for parts are out of sight. Here are 12 new reproduction Lionel couplers for only $43.20

Once in a blue moon I buy something advertised as new, still in shrink wrap only to find that someone used a food processor to seal the box so it looks new, but is actually used and missing parts!

Found this interesting listing.....A Western Pacific GP20, which I believe is a rarer Tyco locomotive. Now, it's untested and missing the two horns on the roof and perhaps the coupler in rear, but the shell is in great cosmetic condition and all of the handrails seem to be present.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tyco-diesel-loco-RM308-/182799409385?hash=item2a8fb1a0e9:g:11oAAOSw-89ZUFNG

^^ A bit pricy, but figured I would place this auction here in case anyone is looking for the Western Pacific GP20 for their collection, and would like to restore one.

Yes they are Athearn. I guess the seller thinks that calling them Tyco will help sell them.

Here's a nice Tyco kit, the Machine Shop. I have yet to see it sell for $35.00 though. Then ad the $6.50 shipping to have a $40+ kit...

Disclaimer: The items below were from an auction that wasn't really expensive nor funny, but it was crazy....crazily awesome!!

I found this lot last Saturday evening on Ebay, and the title stated that it was a Tyco Burlington Northern Alco C430 train set, but upon closer investigation, the Burlington Northern locomotive included was not a C430, but a SHARK!! The seller had originally listed the lot for over $70.00, but apparently they couldn't sell it at that price, for they then dropped it to $38.00, with an offer. I offered $20.00 for the entire lot and they accepted! All together, the entire cost, including shipping, was $32.00.

The lot just arrived today, and I'm so excited to share it here. Besides the Burlington Northern RR Shark (which has been the subject of my recent aspirations), there are 5 train cars included- Western Maryland flat car with 2 tractors, Santa Fe Piggyback car (the first in my roster!), Burlington Route red hopper, CP Rail box car, and Texaco tank car (which needs stepladders.) In addition, there were 4 signs and a telephone pole throne in. Plus, it looks like the piggyback trailer car actually was a part of the original Piggyback Flat Car Set, so I obtained the box in fairly good shape, as well as the truck and loading dock. There's more, though! The top left box belongs to the Log Dump Car Set (which is 75% complete: missing logs, loading bin, and a strip on the loading car is slightly broken) -- but within the box is HO-Scale track, with 2 switches, a power track, and re-railer, besides many curves, 2 straights, and 1 small curve.

This was a great find, and I am thrilled to now have the Burlington Northern Sharknose to add to the locomotive roster. Stay tuned for a post, with a video, of this Shark under my "Tyco Locomotive Roster" thread under "Tyco Motive Power."

P.S. I've already had the red tractor for some time, so I added it to the pair obtained from this lot - forming a trio tractor load flat car!

I have made this guy an offer of $15 and change when he had this listed for $30. $30 is more than I have ever paid for one of these including the 3 new ones on blister cards... He come back with $24 as a counter offer. His latest listing is for $27...

Actually, for a NIB this is a pretty decent price, if you want it:

Saw that a couple members mentioned they're looking for the Golden Eagle set.....there is one lot on Ebay right now that is Mint, but not in box. Not sure if everything's there....but I just wanted to post this here, in case it helps someone complete their collection!

That Tyco set is interesting, I wonder if it will go high. The Pipe Loader
alone could maybe get 30 bills. Then to it has a crossing thing, and it looks
pretty mint. Fortunately, it is PC black that makes
me weak at the knees!

Another one to add to the Watch List. Hard to beat the D&H color
scheme. Lucky for me, they ruined it by slapping on one of those
horrid little Kadee's.

I HAD TO HAVE a D&H 630 this time around the hobby trains. As a kid I never was able to get one. I agree with Chops that the D&Hs had some nice colors...
