Someone finally set up a Gilbert/American Flyer HO reference site.

Doesn't appear that site is getting off the ground at all yet.

Thanks for fixing the above link to their new location.

Whoops! Now you see it, now you don't! That has to be the shortest half-life for a site ever.

I hope it's just temporary.

That was a neat site. I enjoyed seeing all the vintage American Flyer accessories. I learned that the Ideal bridge I've been looking for must have been sold later by Gilbert for American Flyer because it is identical.

I'm really enjoying exploring this website. I discovered that American Flyer made an HO water tower, #772. I is in the 1950 catalog. Has anyone seen this water tower? It is listed as being 9 1/2 inches tall. Is that HO scale? I'd like to try to find it if it isn't out of scale with my Tyco trains. The Atlas water tower is too short, even though it is HO.

I like the water tank, too, with the bubbling action, #596. And the roadside diner. Not crazy about the Erector Set bridge, though.

The existence of that water tower is news to me, Mark. I've never seen one before, but 9.5" is way too tall for HO. It looks like they didn't bother downsizing it from S.

Has the website been back up? It's a dead link as I type this.

The website was up today when I looked. I have it bookmarked now.

They have an S scale water tower that looks just like this one that is listed as being 11 inches tall. I thought 9 1/2 inches was too tall for HO. Too bad, I really like lighted, operating, vintage accessories.

Can anyone suggest a good water tower? The Atlas one that I built when I was younger is too short; the spout isn't high enough for the train to go under.

So, let me see if I understand this. This site http://gilbertho.org/home.htm which is up and running was previously located or started at this site http://gilbertafho.home.att.net which is now defunct?

If so, we should fix this topic up a little.
