I love how the road is seamlessly integrated into everything around it. Any chance of getting a overview shot of the whole layout? Also how many slot cars are you setup to run just two? Or is there more than one set of slot car tracks down?

From where this guy is the next step comes with little thought. Cheet a little and use a car drive for a small trollie. Their are bus's that appear to be old trollies out their now. They are very common at tourist locations and collages.

Wouldn't the cars run a little bit fast for a model train layout?

Although I bet it would be fun to make them fly off and have an accident!

The track is 2 cars, I believe. You can tune the thunderjet chassis so it runs at a nice speed for a town scene.

I'm going to incorporate some HO scale slots into my layout also. I've been in the planning stage for years and now the time has come to actually grab the hammer and nails. I'm looking forward to it. Once I finish the plans I'm going to start a thread to follow the construction from beginning to end.

Awesome, let me know if you need any slot stuff cheap! I will be doing a Tyco US-1 and trains layout for the Amherst Rwy. Society show in Springfield MA, Jan 30-31 2010.

Plenty of pics of Springfield please! The only things I may need as far as slots go would be good ideas and the right gears or possibly cars to make the cars go at a realistic speed. I have a bunch of the newer Tyco/Mattel track. I picked up bins of it at a couple of train shows, my son and I had some good times with it. 440X2's are a bit quick for what I want to do on a train layout.

Very nice. Want to go build a layout right now. In the picture with the big trucks parked side by side; there is a single slot road running behind them.
Is that custom made? I don't think I've ever seen a single track road for slot cars.

That is Aurora's single lane roadway. They made some curves and straights and a manual left and right switch called the Pit Stop Turnouts.
