(In the absence of a "general discussion" forum, I decided to post this here).
My family recently "questioned" my fascination with trains... and extracted a book outta me as it turned out. I thought some of you might appreciate the explanation on my personal blog... complete with short vid of my little girl being oh so cute in front of Daddy's train set. Feel free to ignore my rambling drivel from here out, but if you're interested, you can check it out here: http://goingincirclez.livejournal.com/61096.html...

That was a MOST enjoyable read, and brings me back to my own youthful fascination with trainwatching. There is so much more going on that just watching tons of steel and iron go by.

John - Dang straight! (well, except for the dollar amounts. I WISH my layout had only cost that much to build... [;)] )
Thanks for the comments, all...

An old thread but still holds true today.
Many future modelers out there to enjoy this wonderful hobby.

Hope she got a train set back in the day.
Train tickets probably around 30 dollars. Reaction and fun is priceless.

On Christmas Day I visited my former coworker and her family. I had some excess model train items. So I gave them to their almost two year old daughter. The daughter liked both engines but preferred the Reading engine.
