Thanks! It was the 2nd most challenging building I've ever built, taking me 8.5 hours to complete. But it was well worth it. I did spray-paint all the black parts you see, because they were molded in an ugly green color previously. I do kinda wish I spray-painted the walls, but it looks good as an off-white-walled plant.

Impressive structure.

Slowly figuring out where to put stuff in Henley. This station is moved west of the village, and
is flanked by the mains in front and a goods spur in the rear. I think perhaps a stub spur off the
main spur will be nice. The temptation to force the end of the track up to the main, to use every
available inch of space, is being resisted so as to avoid a cluttered appearance. There is enough
room back there to add some trees, a wall, or perhaps a farmers fallow field to break up the
scene a little. Previously, the freight dock and the engine house was relegated to the back of
the layout, so it is pleasing to move them up.

I occasionally pass the Kelly Sprinfield/Titan Tire plant in Freeport, IL. It has a big, funnel-shaped silo like the one on your plant. Theirs is black, too. Seeing your tire factory with the big black silo like the one at Kelly Tire, it was easy to immediately believe it as a tire factory.

The interchange of tracks both in front of, behind, and next to this
splendid modeling effort brings to mind a street scene. Instead of
a gravel base, have you considered applying, say, plaster of Paris
in and around the rails to create a street scene, where active
tracks, both branch and siding, split the roadways?

There will be a street scene on the 4x4 extension - essentially a road that comes off from beyond the backdrop, crosses 2 tracks, and runs straight into the heart of the 4x4, where vehicles can then access the various industries.

It will be painted on, though.

I'm fixing up Walter's 'Red Wing Mill' right now and one can certainly see it's relationship to the tire factory kit.
