My LOTW is a Brazilian made 4-6-0 H0 scale locomotive by Frateschi. These were imported by Model Power into the US sometime in the 90's and 2000's. It picks up power in the locomotive and in the tender, and the tender is is where to drive actually is. It consists of a can motor with a worm on either end which moves all 8 wheels of the tender (4 on each side). Because of the can motor, as well as the considerable amount of pickups, it's a fairly solid runner. You can actually get these relatively cheaply off of Ebay (less than $100 usually). You can even buy brand new ones directly from Frateschi on Ebay for about $100 in various Brazilian liveries. Update: I just checked the prices, and they've literally doubled for these things brand new. $190 including shipping now.

I had one of these ten wheelers. It did run pretty good, had no idea it was of Brazilian provenance. I eventually loused it up putting in a decoder, back to analogue, etc.

My LOTW will be another Ephrata Valley GP38-2, fresh out of the Anderson Services paint shop.

The Model Power ones, I notice, don't always have where it was made and who made it on the bottom, but I can assure you it's Frateschi because I have another one that does have Frateschi and made in Brazil on the bottom that's in pieces and it's identical. Regardless, I found out that the loco Frateschi used is actually a real locomotive from some Brazilian railway (from what Frateschi says, a Brazilian railroad called "Central". Here's a picture from their website of the prototype for the 4-6-0.
As for the 2-8-0 that they made, that also has a prototype. Here's a picture of it.
