Life Like. The carbody is cast as one entire hollow block of plastic. I love this chunky, cast on style. Reminds me of Marx, wonder if it is the same die?
Interesting sidebar, is that in or around 1967 much of the Maine potato crop was stored in refrigerator cars being carried by the Penn Central. Potatoes require a little heating to prevent freezing in winter, or they quickly go to rot. And, if you've encountered a rotten potato, it is a reeking, slimy mess quick to induce back lash.
Somehow, this entire shipment got "lost," I think it was in the Long Island Sunnyside Yard, and one by one the heater compressor units on the reefers ran out of fuel until the entire shebang had gone to rot. A large number of Maine potato farmers got bankrupted, and after that all potato shipments went by truck.
I tried to Google this event, but it will not turn up.

Ephrata Valley RR Tyco 50' box car #8045, in a scheme reminiscent of the Lehigh Valley. Another custom job done by the Anderson Shops.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangor_and_Aroostook_Railroad
BAR began hauling potatoes in heated boxcars in 1895.[2] Potatoes provided a stable income source through the great depression, and provided 50% of the railroad's revenue following World War II.[3] BAR had the second-largest United States railroad-owned reefer fleet (after Santa Fe) during the 1950s.[4] BAR made an arrangement with Pacific Fruit Express whereby PFE reefers shipped Maine potatoes during winter months and BAR reefers carried California produce during the summer and autumn.[5] While potatoes started moving by truck following completion of the Interstate Highway System into northern Maine in the 1960s, what actually resulted in the railroad losing its potato business forever was the Penn Central Transportation Company (PC), whose interchange service became so bad during the winter of 1969–70 that a large portion of the 1969 potato crop was spoiled by freezing when car heaters ran out of fuel. The claims process against PC was not resolved prior to PC's bankruptcy declaration the following June. As a result, several potato farms went out of business; those that survived distrusted rail service and never returned to using the railroad.[6]
One of you young moderns will have to correct the wikipedia entry now that the Penn Central Curse has been lifted from the potato world!

I don't recognize that car. Is it an uncat item, kitbashed or possibly a custom paint job?

Righto, Chops.
Bus, what is the road number that should be stamped on the edge of the box? Something like 324-A. Thanks.
Justin, do you recall the set name/number?
Thanks.
