My entry for Car of the Week isn't a single car, but a whole fleet of them. Meet the humble Bachman Silver Series 40 foot gondola. This car shows how far Bachmann has gone to upgrade an old friend to meet to-day's standards. These cars come properly weighted to NMRA standards, with metal wheels and knuckle couplers. They are also cheap, listing for about $20 each, but redily available for as low as $10-12. My fleet consists of over 20 cars, plus several more from trainsets that have plastic wheels and aren't weighted to standards.
The twenty shown in the photos were selected to be a part of the test train for the locomotive performance trials currently underway on the Cumberland Terminal. Most of these cars, the red ones, will eventually have the lettering removed and become Alleghany Railway cars in the 33300-33499 series. This will happen once I have the custom decals printed.

My COTW will be a twofer special. First up will be my new Tyco Burlington caboose. Of note is that if features the brown box frame and plastic handrails, which is rare for the Burlington Caboose.
Secondly is my Great Northern Cable Reel car. Aaron Anderson
