My latest finished project! I've always wanted a model of the original "Bullet Train", and came across a good deal on an unpowered 6-car set from Model Power. It took quite a bit of time to finish, but the results were great! Including all the materials and a couple mint-in-box Lindsay motors, I somehow managed to spend no more than about $100 on the whole thing.

Great custom work! That looks like it was quite challenging.

Thanks! It was a tough one simply because of how many there were to do, but it was worth the effort!
quote:
Actually, they are quite a bit different. Playart's model is of an early Type 0 with small windows, and Lima's was the late Type 0 with larger windows. The detail and paint on Lima's is also quite a bit better, and their pancake motor truck is a smooth and quiet runner. Playart's truck used a toy-grade can motor with a noisy tower gear drive. Lima's model was made in Italy, while Playart's is from Macao (part of China). The Lima model would've been nice to have, but those are more rare and tend to go for quite a bit more than the Playart/Model Power version.
