It's August 1965, and as a summer thunderstorm rolls over a rural Saskatchewan town, a Canadian National passenger train roars past a small mixed freight paused at the station.
My LOTW will be my Canadian National F9-A. I've had this unit for a while, and it's been a pretty nice unit for me. I love the looks of CN's zebra striped streamline cabs.

That photo looks so realistic - wow!
My LOTW offering is the Tyco New Haven E7, a recent acquisition, but unfortunately upon running for less than 5 minutes, it popped its pinion gear. Now it is another restoration project.

Thank you! Once I get my Amtrack GG1 running smoothly again, I may have to do another trade with you. Seems to me I had something you didn't have, but I have to think on that for a while.

Awesome special effects! Was that done with Paint 3D? I remember those thunderboomers coming over the Ontario plains. Enough to shake you out of bed and hide under it!!
Drat! Another pinion popping Power Pooper. I think it was...Blax...who suggested filing a "step," or notch, on the drive axle, so that when returning the pinion to the axle the glue has something to grab, otherwise it just slips.

It did on the last occasion I tried that method. This time, I'll try to be more precise.

My loco of the week is an Athearn GP7. It says 9 on the box but it is a 7. Here I am in New Jersey and this loco wasn't exactly seen on in-state railroads. First I'll show the box.
Now my loco isn't the SP one seen on the cover. The box label shows this loco came Ready to Run with the HI-F drive and their designation 0f a GP9. The plain ATSF road name is lacking a true description of what is inside. If it wasn't for railroaders and modelers the name "Santa Fe Zebra striped Jeep" wouldn't exist. I like this name much better than the one Irvin put on the box. I have replaced the rubberband drive with a geared one. My loco photo.

Ironically, the UK edition, which was based around London, didn't even feature a bus, despite the red double deckers being more iconic than the railways (although the London Underground is of course a major thing).
Australian Monopoly sets were also based on the UK version, but the currency was $ rather than £. Well, at least until M became the standard Monopoly currency.
