My SOTW will be my Santa Fe asset. I rather like this asset, as Tyco usually does a very nice Santa Fe paint job. These units are no exception. I've picked and chosen this collection quite well, so the paint on these units is in near pristine condition. I love the looks of a mighty Santa Fe engine pulling a train.

Santa Fe very actively wanted train sets made in their road name. Most manufacturers were in the East, so western railroads were seldom seen in train sets. Santa Fe approached Lionel and specifically asked them to do a Santa Fe set. My childhood recollections of Christmas catalogs from the big department stores is that a lot more than Lionel took up the Santa Fe name. It makes me wonder if they approached all the train set makers.

Got this for my new "Santa Fe Paradise" N-Scale layout. It is a LifeLike Santa Fe "Blue Bonnet" GP38-2 powered/unpowered set w. caboose! Did not pay that price, by the way.

Tyco did make a Western Pacific caboose too, busss, but it is VERY rare.
