My LOTW will be one I'm beyond happy with. Here's my new Tyco HO Spirit of '76 Steamer. This steam engine arrived safe, and looks absolutely beautiful. There's a few little paint chips on the pilot, and the motor needs a little work, but I'm happy none the less.Overall this is one of the nicer additions to my collection...

What's with the paint on the compressor and dynamo? looks like they didn't cover well! While you're touching up the pilot, do the blue too!

This loco deserves to look pristine! Such a beauty!

My LOTW is something that I recently purchased that hasn't arrived in the mail yet. It's a Bachmann Spectrum/China class SY Susquehanna #142. The prototype was built in 1989 in China () and was shipped to the United States for a scenic railroad that a few years later went out of business, leading to the locomotive being bought by the NYSW, where it pulls excursions today. I'll post more photos when I actually get it. The pictures that I'm posting for the time being are from the Ebay listing.

To me that is pristine. Most Tycos have poorly covered spots or overspray, so truthfully that looks like a factory job. I may leave the pilot alone as well. I don't have any gloss red...

$203 plus shipping and tax. I won it in an auction at $180 minus those previously mentioned things. It’s DCC fitted but doesn’t have the original box. These things are ridiculously hard to find, especially for that cheap.

Nice locomotives this week, all!

My LOTW has to be this mint and rare N-Scale Roco DB Class 150 electric locomotive! This was the first time I ever saw one of these even available on Ebay, and got it for $35, a price beyond my expectations. Expect a video soon of it hauling mixed wagons on the Alpine Railway.

I just received the Susquehanna #142 in the mail today. As you could probably get from the photos, this thing is absolutely gorgeous. There's a ridiculous amount of separately fitted details all over this thing, excluding the bottom of the loco and the cab. Other than those two areas, this loco is packed to the brim with extremely well molded separately fitted details. Honestly, it's hard to tell this thing was made by Bachmann with how nice it is.It runs about as well as it looks, too. Although, there is a noticeable buzzing noise coming from the motor when I put it at crawling speed. On top of that, when it's below an express speed, it's a tiny bit jerky. From what I've seen, these things are how these things generally are. Keep in mind, these were made in the mid 2000's. I lubricated the locomotive and these issues have improved noticeably, and with some more running in, it will more than likely improve at least a little. On top of that, this engine has a DCC chip in it, so it will more than likely run better on DCC. Despite all that, though, it's not a bad runner. All in all, although the prices these things go for is a bit steep, the detail is honestly brass tier and the running performance is definitely not disappointing, despite the aforementioned issues.

It's so detailed because it's from their chinese line. Thier chinese stuff is top notch. Some US railroads ordered SY Mikados back in the day from overseas, and 142 was one of them.

Yeah, I know that. Absolutely insane how China was still building steam engines in 1989. They apparently built their SY class from 1960 all the way to 1999.But yeah, the cool thing is, I actually live not too far away from the real 142. I believe it's in Pennsylvania, which is probably an hour or two drive from where I live.

Take the model and go visit it and take pics of the real loco and model!

China sure does love steam, I'm sure there are still some in active service...
