YIKES! That sucks big time! I don't know where you could find one, sorry. There are quite a few sellers who sell these bulk parts on ebay. Or, if you go to a hobby shop or something, they might be able to pull it off and replace it with a non - original gear that still works properly.

However I'm confused. These rivarossis were fine tuned machines. It isn't like them to just grind a gear. Was something not right or out of place that would have caused this to happen?

not sure it has been making a weird sound but I didn't suspect the gear box its probably me being a crappy model train owner

So found one for a reasonable price on eBay got it today thought that USPS had lost it but it finally arrived!
