My LOTW will be my fairly new addition, a Tyco Rock Island 0-6-0 steam engine. I'm quite impressed how Tyco managed to incorporate the wheelsets and drivers directly onto the powertorque motor. It's makes for a very hard unit to work on, but I still find it impressive. I believe this unit means I have all the Tyco R.I. locomotives (minus the Mehano F7 but I don't really care about that really). I just love my Rock Island locomotives...

Those spoked wheels are literally just plastic inserts glued on lol

I'd still prefer a regular Mantua big six.

Here's my Mantua General, with all the extra details!

Read more about it in my projects thread

Great stuff! Once again, I never knew Tyco did an
0-6-0, much less in Rock Island.

I love the white walls on the pilot truck, Blax, did you
do that? That is an elegant touch.

Yep, I love myself some white walls!

If you look up pics of a stock general you can compare the two and see what details I have added.

My LOTW is a Rivarossi Pennsylvania Railroad 2-8-8-2 from the 1960's or 1970's. I got this at a train show a few months before this whole COVID thing started up for around $150 bundled up with a Rivarossi Santa Fe 0-8-0. After some regular maintenance and running in, she's a fairly good runner. However, unlike most versions of this model I've seen, she has no pickups in the tender. The tender wheels are all plastic!Despite this, though, I like it quite a bit.

Welp...gotta break the steam theme this week...

My LOTW offering is the Canadiana Alco C430 by Tyco, of course!! A big shout-out to DaCheez for buying this from that Canadian Antique Shop and shipping it across the border to me - truly appreciate it. This C430 is MINT, however, the pinion gear has slipped off the drive shaft. Should be an interesting restoration, so stay tuned!

No, it doesn't. Rivarossi didn't add a booster truck until the 90's, and mine was made (according to the box and paperwork it came with) in 1983.

My LOTW is the Canadians Shark in progress. It took
about an hour of careful carving to release the fuel
tank from the chassis, the prior owner having
super glued it in. This only cost me two Exacto
blades and a small bit of thumb. Upon trying to fit
the Model Power chassis, it was found to be exactly
1 mm too large, requiring it to be sawed down. This
is like sawing through a jail bar using thread.
So, just use you iagination

Not personally, but I must warn you that there are foreign powers and stateless actors who have used modern satellite technology to locate the famed dumpster cam:

Should you hear helicopters hovering over your home, one night, guard your windows against commandoes, in black clothing and helmets, launching a surgical strike to capture your coveted Santa Fe F7A.
